THE SHIVA MURTI EPISODE
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode we explore a healing art that is as ancient as it is alive, a practice born in the temples of Bali that speaks to both body and spirit. This practice is called Shiva Murti, a powerful energy-healing modality rooted in Balinese Hinduism and the animistic traditions of the island.
At its core, Shiva Murti means "Form of Shiva," Shiva being the divine principle of transformation, destruction of what no longer serves, and renewal. The practice invites the healer-practitioner to channel sacred energies, unhook the blocks held in the physical and energetic body, and invoke a field of consciousness where healing flows.
Unlike many healing modalities that build slowly over months or years, Shiva Murti has a reputation for producing swift, tangible shifts: relief from pain, release of emotional or energetic hold-downs, and a deep sense of alignment of body, mind and spirit. The work often involves mantra, breath, invocation of divine archetypes, and techniques to locate, break up, and clear energy blockages in the body's subtle systems. It's simultaneously a healing art and a spiritual path, as students of the modality are often called to commitment, ritual, and a daily practice.
Importantly, Shiva Murti is not divorced from its cultural roots. It was developed and transmitted by the Balinese High Priest and Master Teacher Ratu Nabe in Bali, Indonesia, and carries the lineage integrity of that tradition.
Neil Aaron is one of the foremost teachers of this sacred art, with over twenty-eight years of teaching experience. Neil was formally trained and initiated multiple times in Bali by Master Teacher and High Priest Ratu Nabe. Having attained the highest level in the Shiva Murti tradition, he was honored with the title Jero and granted permission to teach this lineage internationally. Together, we will explore the mystical, the magical, the enlightened, and the sacred. In each episode, we pair seasoned practitioners, spiritual experiences, or healing modalities, and a willing participant to share their experience in working together. We will explore the unique insights, stories, and wisdom gained from their own profound journeys, unveiling the extraordinary narratives that shape spiritual seekers and practitioners alike. My name is Krista Rauschenberg and my work as a healer has emerged from hundreds of hours of certified training spiritual initiations, direct experience, and deep personal work. I've been employed in the healing arts as a postpartum doula, an advanced Akashic reader, and an Akashic breathwork practitioner and a writer. Facilitating and educating people through their personal, spiritual, and healing journeys is my greatest source of happiness. Welcome once again to the Beginner's Guide to the Third Eye, where we demystify the mystical. On today's show, we will explore a healing art that is as ancient as it is alive, a practice born in the temples of Bali that speaks to both body and spirit. This practice is called Shiva Murti, and it is a powerful energy healing modality rooted in Balanis, Hinduism, and the animistic traditions of the island At its core, Shiva Murti means forms of Shiva. Shiva being the divine principle of transformation, destruction of what no longer serves and renewal. The practice invites the healer practitioner to channel sacred energies, unhooked the blocks held in the physical and energetic body, evoke a field of consciousness where healing flows unlike many healing modalities that build slowly over months or years. Shiva Murti has the reputation for producing swift tangible shifts, relief from pain, release of emotional or energetic hold downs, and a deep sense of alignment of the body, mind, and spirit. The work often involves mantra breath. Invocation of divine archetypes and techniques to locate, breakup and clear energy blockages in the body's subtle systems. It is simultaneously a healing art and a spiritual path as students of the modality are often called to commitment, ritual, and a daily practice. Importantly, Shiva Murti is not divorced from its cultural roots. It was developed and transmitted by the Bolonese high priest and master teacher RRRRRatu Nabe and it carries the lineage integrity of that tradition. My guest today is Neil Aaron. Tara's therapeutic approach weaves together traditional psychotherapy with integrative healing modalities, such as art therapy, breath work, brain spotting, and ketamine assisted psychotherapy. Welcome to you both. I'm so happy to have you.
TerraThanks. Thank you for having us.
KristaA big part of why I wanted to bring this podcast to life was to showcase energy workers and demystify what they do, how they do it, and why. Neil, give us a bit of your background. Tell us how this work with Shiva Murti came to be in your life, and how your life's unfolded to get you where you are today.
NeilAll right. Shiva Murti is a Balinese modality, so I had to go to Bali to learn this. I'm one of the pioneers, so I'm one of the first groups to ever learn this outside of Bali. And I work with Ratu Nabe. He's a high priest. He's the founder of Shiva Murti, and he's a living master. So I get to continually work with him and grow in my practice. And I teach people how to do this healing modality and then do trainings in Bali with him. So my students have an option to go to Bali and work directly with him as well.
KristaWhat constitutes a Living master?
NeilHe's a master teacher. So he is the founder of this. He is the person that has developed it, how to teach it. He practices it in Bali. He has a clinic that he works in during the day where he does healings on people, and then he puts on his high priest hat and he does ceremonies and does all the things at the temple next door. And then his house is next to that. It's all kind of one big compound. He's, a big force in that village and in that area. He's the youngest high priest in Bali. There was a retreat of people from America that went to see different healers in Bali. And they happened upon him. And they said, oh, how do you do this? This is amazing. This is miraculous. How is this possible? Because they were seeing things change and instant healings And he said I'll teach you if you want, bring 20 people here I'll take a week off and just teach you. And so I jumped on that opportunity when I found out about it because I had celiac disease. And in western medicine, that's an impossible thing to cure or change And while those friends were on that retreat with him, they gave him a photo of me and said, he wants help with his stomach. And he worked on my stomach and. I can now eat anything. It changed my life. To be able to go to a restaurant, order a salad and still not get sick because there was cross-contamination in the kitchen or whatever, changed my life. I literally went out for pancakes with my friend yesterday.
KristaWow.
NeilYeah.
KristaSo you were in America? Yes. You grew up in Los Angeles? I
Neilgrew up in Connecticut.
KristaOkay.
NeilAnd I lived in San Francisco for nearly 20 years. And then I've lived in Los Angeles for 10.
KristaGot it. And so friends of yours went to Bali and brought your picture to get you a healing, and you were privy to this. You knew that they were gonna do this.
NeilYeah, I've always been on this big spiritual journey my whole life. I've experienced so many things, but I was really just rolling my eyes at it where my friend was like, oh, and I'm going to these healers. And they said I could bring a photo of a loved one. Do you want your photo done? And I'm like, sure. And they're like what do you need done? I'm like my stomach always bothers me, so just say my stomach.
KristaDid you feel the healing immediately, was it a progression? Did you have to go back and get more?
NeilThe interesting thing is that I did feel it, but I didn't believe it. I was teaching preschool at the time and all of a sudden I grabbed my stomach and I said, something weird's happening. Something weird's happening. I don't know what's happening. And my co-teacher was like, she needs to sit down. What, what's going on? And I'm like, I don't know. And she's does it hurt? And I said, it doesn't hurt. And she's do you feel like you're gonna throw up? I said, I don't feel like I'm gonna throw up. I feel dizzy and I don't know what's happening. And then it just passed. And then that night I got a message that the healing had been done and I did not believe it, so I didn't try it. But I noticed I was going to restaurants and eating. Gluten-free things, but still not getting cross-contamination. And I said to my sister, I think he cured my cross-contamination issue. And she's like, why would he only cure part of it? Like why don't you try to eat something? And I was just so scared to eat something. 'cause I would get so sick. And I finally took a bite of a sandwich and nothing happened. And then I was like, oh, now I'll do soy sauce with sushi and now I'll do the, and then I eventually was like, okay, I'll eat a piece of pizza. And by the way, I was lactose intolerant my whole life and that went away too.
KristaWow.
NeilSo I, I can eat pizza now after a life of not being able to eat a real slice of pizza.
KristaIf you can eat pizza, I can imagine why you'd change your whole life.
NeilYeah. It changes your life to eat pizza.
KristaI would devote my life to it too.
NeilYeah.
KristaWonderful. Tara, tell us a bit about your background. What kind of readings or healings have you had before and what were your expectations or reservations, if any, coming into this?
TerraSure i'm a therapist. I have done lots of different healings lots of energy healings. I've done a lot of psychedelic work therapy, what have I not tried? I don't know. I've tried it all. So this kind of healing is not outside of my scope of belief and understanding. I've never experienced Shiva Marti healing before. So coming into it was not a huge leap for me. And I trusted Neil, like right away. It was nice vibe, we vibed.
KristaBeautiful. Neil, how does a Connecticut boy become a Albanese healer? Was that a big leap for you? Tell us about the draw or the call.
NeilThat is a very big question, so I will try to sum it up as best I can. I'll correct you when you say a Connecticut boy, and I'll say that what my mom likes to call me is a nice Jewish Connecticut boy,
Kristapart of
Neilme. So we'll start with that.
KristaAnother layer of texture. I love
Neilit. It's another layer. So basically. I grew up the very black sheep of my family. I was very different than everyone. And I didn't fall in line. I forged my own path. Artistically, spiritually, emotionally sexually 'cause I'm gay, everything was very different. And I always had a sense of energy and spirit around me. And I heard messages. And I felt messages. And I followed messages. Wow. And I saw that was leading me somewhere else. And I studied in New Mexico. My s. My sophomore year of college studying Native American tribes and I went there for the summer semester and. While I was there, my third eye really started to open and I really started hearing messages and seeing things and having flashbacks of a past life as a medicine woman and a storyteller in a Native American tribe. Now, the woman part made sense. The storyteller definitely made sense. The medicine woman made no sense to me, but I just was like, okay. So that was the beginning. Then I was always on this journey of seeking. Looking for finding, I don't know if it was answers or just connection to what I was feeling and where I was going. And as I went through life doing that, I explored other religions judaism, Kabbalah Buddhism, Hinduism and traveling to different places and studying under different gurus So as that kind of shifted through my life I was feeling like there's more to life than what I'm being showed and told to do. And in that process I experienced my brother-in-law who was like a big brother to me having a battle with cancer. And it was this devastating thing that shook my family and still has repercussions of, his passing something didn't make sense spiritually to me. How does someone who's so amazing and so good and does so much in this world and has been such a force, he entered this family and just changed us for the better and how do I reconcile him having to suffer the way he suffered and spiritually speaking. I do understand that process, but I just came to a point in my grief of saying if there's anything I could do to not have someone like that go through something like that and have my family not go through what they're going through and have my nephews not go through losing a parent like that at a young age, I would do anything. And that is the exact timing when Shiva Murti entered my life and when the opportunity came to go study this thing we'll get back now to the Jewish mother part. The idea I was quitting my job to spend thousands of dollars that I didn't have to go to Bali, which she couldn't even pronounce. She was calling it Bally. And to go to Bally and to. Spend money to learn how to blow on people and heal them was so far from what seemed possible because no one else had done it except for him. So I did have that moment of saying, I just feel it, like I'm following my heart. I hear it. It's there. Something is telling me to do this and it makes no sense and it sounds absolutely impossible. And I'm gonna fall flat on my face, but I'm going to jump, I know there's a net somewhere. And I did it. And that's what took me from the nice Jewish boy in Connecticut into a bolonese healer.
KristaOh, amazing. And I've heard and seen and experienced myself so many times where source and spirit does ask us to take the big leap. And it doesn't make sense and it isn't logical. But it is the path. And I think there's something in the risk and reward factor I think it starts with belief. Belief begets trust. And trust begets surrender. And I think everything that we're meant to do in this life has some form of surrender to it. So what an amazing story. I'm so proud of you for allowing this in your life.
NeilLike you said, it was an easy, no, I moved to LA to pursue music and writing and quit my job, lose my insurance, and go to Bali and fight with my parents and do all that. It was an easy no, but what I've learned in life is that when the heart is telling you yes, you say yes and you jump and there's always a net. That's the thing. It's like, how many times do we do it and the net's there, and then we like have to do it again and we're like, oh no, I'm scared. There's not gonna be a net, but there's always a net.
KristaI just wanna step back. When your third eye awakening was happening or even before that, were you able to immediately trust what you were seeing and feeling and hearing? Was there some kind of arc of adjustment where you honed that? Did it startle you at first? Did it scare you at all? What was your relationship with that as it developed?
NeilI remember as a child hearing voices and it never sounded like someone was in the room with me kind of voice, so it didn't scare me.
KristaYeah.
NeilIt's like a voice in the head. Lot of times I didn't recognize the voice, but I could feel the sensation of familiarity. That got me used to that feeling. So when I got to New Mexico and the voices got clearer, which was the opening of the eye the voices got clearer and the understanding of the message got easier. For me getting messages sometimes is I'll get a symbol it's not necessarily a voice telling me that person's mother died I get a symbol of a mother and a vibration that it's for this person. So the messages just got clearer and clearer. But I felt like I had special gifts. As an artist I was seeing things so differently than other people. I was seeing things in color also. I was able to organize people feelings, sounds other things into colors. And I would talk about it and my friends would be fascinated, but I'm like, okay, this is a special gift of some kind. Because if everyone had it, it wouldn't be special. I also. Experimented with a pendulum for the first time. I said I'm going to try this pendulum thing and see, and when I was talking to the pendulum and watching it move and answer questions and I was able to control it with my mind and move it. It was so profoundly clear that I knew I wasn't moving my hand I would get that thing flying around I was like, something's going on here., Something's happening. There is a, some kind of gift and I was excited. I wasn't scared.
KristaAmazing. So Neil, for those new to Shiva Murti, can you describe what this balanis energy modality is, how it differs from other forms of energetic and body-based healing and then how it shows up with you and in the client as well?
NeilWhat I discovered when I was studying Shiva Murti is that there's a wheel with colors and they have elements and it does identically match, some of the tribes that I've studied, their wheel of healing is similar to the Shiva Murty wheel of symbols and stuff. Which was then like a mind. Explosion of wow, in a past life I was using this as a Native American medicine woman, and now I'm here as a little Jewish boy and using this wheel of information that's ancient and indigenous, so it's not, they picked up the phone and told each other. It's ancient. So these are to me truths. What Shiva Murti is and how it works is that I'm using energy in the quantum field and I'm using a Bolonese lens to look at it and to call the energy. Out of, the field and place it into, me and then into the person's body. So I'm the channel of that. I'm using the Alese lens. So I'm using alese words, I'm using alese symbols, i'm assigning that energy a name and a quality so that I can move it what I do essentially is, blow the energy in, I send it through my hands, I send it through my mouth, my eyes. I channel it, I send it through. Then I pull out the negative energy and I clear that off of me. And out of the room. And in that cycle the healings happen. I do use test points when I'm in person with someone, but it is a remote modality as well as I witnessed with my stomach I can use photos or I could use video. So when I use video photos, when I work on babies', children, or animals, I don't use test points. When I'm in person with adults, I can use test points and those are checking for blocks in the body, like meridians. And I can clear those different channels. So sometimes the toes are for neurology. So even though you don't have a problem in your toes, I'll test your toe and it might hurt and the block for your brain is in your toe, so I'm gonna clear it.
KristaIs there a transference of energy? So When you blow in, it then blows out the negative energy and you replace it with the positive energy then how do you go about clearing the negative that came out.
NeilI'm blowing in the energy that's positive and the healing energy. So like I said, there's the wheel and it has elements on it. That's partially what I'm using is elements So I might be using fire to burn out a, an infection or I might be using, water to cool down an inflammation i'm calling in those energies. I'm sending in the positive energy and then I'm pulling out the negative energy so
Kristayou have to pull it, it doesn't just remove once you push the positive in,
NeilI do believe that some of it gets dissipated with contact from the positive energy.
KristaYeah.
NeilBut part of the process is to pull out whatever's there that shouldn't be there anymore. And then I clear it off my hands and when I clear it off my hands, it goes right into the EERs. So circling back to me being gay. I like to snap my fingers and sometimes I pull out something and I snap it. So in that it goes into the ether. Fortunately, otherwise, my healing room would be covered in negativity. I don't understand the physics of why that happens. But it's just the process that I use in it and it works.
KristaIs there ever an energy that is more visy or sticky or doesn't just dissipate quickly and easily?
NeilYes. All the time.
KristaAnd then what do you do with that and do you know, like the nRRRRature of that energy
Neilsometimes. And this happens for people that study with me too, I trained people who have zero experience with any of this kind of thing someone comes to me and they're like, I'm a mom. I have two kids. One of my kids is sick a lot. Like I just wanna learn just so I can help my kids. And I'm always like PS you're gonna end up helping yourself. You're gonna be ending up helping you're parents, your friends, because that's just what happens. 'cause suddenly your friend has cancer and you're not gonna ignore it. And that actually just happened to me where a former coworker who I've known since she was a teenager, got brain cancer that, her prognosis is 30 to 90 days. And what am I gonna do but send healings? Yeah. Is use her picture and send healings and that's, yeah. That's the deal. I forgot what you asked because I went on a tangent.
KristaYeah. Is there energy that is more difficult to clear? Yes. It doesn't just snap itself out
Neilyes. I guess my point was going to be that you don't have to necessarily feel like you have this gift that you've always had that's just my story. I have people that once you start this practice, 'cause it's a daily practice that comes with it and you're chanting Sanskrit your third eye does open and you do start getting information of what different energy is and feeling different things move. And so it just depends on the practitioner of if they understand what that energy is or if it's too sticky or if it's this or that. I just am at the point for me where. Having been to Bali so many times and having been trained in new things every time, I really do have a sense of when, oh, there's an entity here. There's something attached, there's something sticky, there's something not moving, there's something stuck, this is the most miraculous modality I've ever seen, ever witnessed, i've traveled the world. I've not found something like this. I've also not found anything that has a living master that's being used on a regular basis. It's the most powerful thing I've ever come across, and it's the fastest thing and the most uninvasive, if that's a word thing, I feel like every healing's a miracle, but not every time I blow someone, do they a hundred percent. Heal. And it's gone because there's other energies and there's other soul packs, and there's other things happening in the universe that I have no control over. And I also might not understand, but I've said to people if I lined up three people with bad backs and I blow on each one of them, I'll get three different results. I'll get results, but I'll get three different results.
KristaI think that goes to why it's there in the first place. The client's relationship to it. What they're willing to let go, what it might still be teaching them, where did it come from in the first place? Yeah. There's a lot of variables in healing. There's a really great adage before you heal someone, ask if they're willing to let go, what's hurting them?
NeilThat's a good one. What's interesting with Shiva Murti and I get asked this a lot, is what if the person doesn't believe it? Or what if the person doesn't think that it's gonna work? Can it still work? And my answer is yes, because I do this thing called a social where I volunteer my time. This is something that comes from Bali where Shiva, Murti is not just a healing modality, it's also a nonprofit every so often, I think it's once a month or so, they round up people in the village who have no money and they give them free healthcare. And all the Sheila Murti healers come out, they work with the government, they partner with medical science, where there's people handing out, eyeglasses and doing blood pressure medicine and stuff like that. And the Sheila Murti healers are there doing healings on everyone. So as part of the pioneer of this and bringing this out of Bali with permission and, excitement came, how do I keep this the closest to Bali as possible as I bring it into a culture that's so not Bali at all. And part of one of the things that I brought. With me was the idea of a social, of doing free healthcare for people. So I'll do these events where I put 20 people in a room and my table, and I call them up one at a time. And people watch people go from being in pain to not being in pain, to having trouble walking, to walking to feeling nothing change at all. And me saying it might happen in 24 hours, and then the next day they email me that it happened, all different sorts of stuff happening. And when I was at this healing one time in Tampa, I've traveled the country and done them all over at my own expense because it's just part of what I feel like is what I should do. It's part of the promotion of this too, of saying look what's possible. And when I have a student in Florida or Texas and they're like, will you come to my town and show my friends? And I'm like, yes. And I do, I was in Florida and this guy came up to the front for his healing and he crossed his arms and he said, I just got outta rehab and I can't take pain pills. My back is killing me. My girlfriend dragged me to this and I think this is bullshit. And I said, all right can I, try it out? And he's like, go for it. And I did a healing on him and his back was completely painless in minutes and he started crying and saying, I just wanna bring you home with me and that just proved that someone who was sure it was not gonna work. It can still work.
KristaBecause it's just energy. And the ego is what's telling us that it doesn't work.
NeilAbsolutely.
KristaTara, I wanna get to your experience of it, but first, Neil, if you could give our listeners a visual understanding of how a session works. Do you start with a conversation and energetic assessment? Do you have the client lay down or stand up? Set the scene for us.
NeilAlright. So I am at the point where I could line up people and just take one after another and just go through it, but I don't. Feel that calling right now. Okay. I feel like I really do wanna get to know people, talk to them, experience them, because they don't know me. Let's have some bedside manner with this. I get sessions where people live in. New Zealand and we're on a screen and we have 10 minutes and I'm just sending healings to the spots on them and we're laughing a little and talking, but it's really quick and done. At this point, I heal in a healing room in my home. So if someone's coming into my home, I wanna welcome them. I want them to feel comfortable I do have the altar, so I like to invite them to look at the altar and connect to the energies that I have going on there in Bali before you get a healing, before you do a ceremony, you do a cleansing with smoke and water. So I invite people to do the cleansing ritual with me to cleanse themselves in the blessed incense I do a chants with mantras with the water and cleanse them with the water. And I do ask people what brings you here? And usually people tell me in an email the honest to God truth, I was just explaining this to my mom, I don't really need to know. I will find stuff, but it does help for someone to say I've been having stomach aches what I really don't need to know is the medical stuff of I was diagnosed with this because I'm not a doctor. I have no idea what a lot of that stuff means. So they can tell me what's been bothering them, what brought them in, then I lay them on the table, face up, and I go through their test points. And I'm pressing different areas of their body and. I'm looking for what we like to call the shock or the test. So it's either a tenderness or it's a ow ooh. It's like a shock For some people it's, i'm not really sure. Something feels maybe a little different on that toe than the other toes. And then I just do the clearing where I blow, I send in the energy, I say some ese words, and then I pull off whatever I'm feeling is in there and clearing my hands. And then I test the spot again and see if it feels different. And people will usually say, oh wow, that feels different. I have videos on YouTube of me doing test points on someone that was really sensitive. And she screams and jumps when you hit it. And. For me, one, yes. Entertaining to watch and it's also amazing to watch because you see then I'm blowing and sending an energy and pulling it out, and then I test her again. And at first she's maybe a little tender still. And then I do it again. And then it's oh, it's gone. And it's dramatic. So it's inter interesting to watch. So some people have really severe reactions. Now, when I'm in Bali and RRRRRatu Nabe is working on people, people are screaming. People are screaming, it hurts when you test the spot. I've worked in the clinic with him. I've had that honor multiple times. And I call it an honor, but it's also very intimidating especially the first time he did it he had bolonese people in there, and he takes them 20 at a time and he pressed on someone, they scream. And then he has me come over. And I have to clear it, not have to, I get to clear it in front of him, and then I press again and it's gone. And then he tests to make sure it's gone and it's gone.
KristaAmazing.
NeilYeah. welcome. Let me tell you a little bit about, what you are gonna be experiencing today we'll be going through your body, checking different test points. I'll be pressing different areas if you feel any tenderness or pain or anything that feels more than just me pressing. Then that's a block and we will clear it. The way I clear it is very different than what you're used to in, Western, civilization I'll be blowing like that and sending in the energy through the blow my hands and my eyes, I'll be sending in the positive energy, and pulling out the negative energy then clearing it off my hands. Once I clear it off my hands, it disappears. It doesn't land in the room anywhere. Then I'll retest and see if the pain is gone. I'll find things as I go and I'll probably make suggestions. Like are you having issues with your lungs or something? And you'll say yeah, actually I am, I have breathing issue or whatever. And then we can work on that. But also if you have things you already know, you can just tell me yeah, I have knee problems or my back hurts in the morning when I wake up or whatever. So it will be a participant kind of thing.
TerraSo you said physical things, but also are we talking about emotional as well? Yes. Okay. I'll let you know what that is and you can. Work on that in the body.
NeilYeah. We can absorb negative energy, sadness that's an energy in our body when someone's grieving The outcome I'm looking for is not to take away their grieving 'cause grievings a nRRRRatural process, but to, lighten it or clear it a little bit the process of grieving is still important to happen. I have a lot of people that have anxiety. So I work on that. I work on kind of everything. And some of those have test points and some of them don't. I'm able to scan your body where I can see different things and I get messages that way. I also hear messages and sometimes I feel messages in my body, so I'll be like, oh, something's in your liver. My liver will start tingling and I'll be like, oh, I have to go to your liver. We'll just go through your body find, whatever imbalances or blocks are there, and we'll release them and then see how you feel. Physical pain is easy to measure. Emotional pain's a lot harder to know what kind of progress is happening. But most people have a sense of, yeah, I felt lighter today. I felt different today. Oh, when I woke up, it was easier to get outta bed. For any emotional stuff, you'll be the gauge of yourself of what feels different. So what I start with is a cleansing ceremony. With, smoke and water. It's a blessing you'll be cleansing yourself with the smoke and cleansing you with the water. And so why don't I walk you through that process? These are blessed incense from Bali. So with the smoke, you first wanna clean your hands to get everything off your hands. Then you're going to take some and put it over your head, take some, put it into your face and take some, put it onto your body. Now the next part is I'm going to do some chanting I'm going to do some on your head your right hand goes over your left and I'm gonna have you drink three times. So I'll say something and I'll say, drink. And then you drink it. And on the fourth one, you just wash your face a little bit with it. Drink. Drink Drink wash.
TerraRight face.
NeilAlright. And that's, holy water that I make, with chance and different ingredients. It takes me a little while to make it, but it's got good energy in there. Wonderful. Okay, so now I'm gonna have you lay down on the table, feet that way. Face up. I'm gonna start with, the toes and you'll tell me if those feel sharp or anything. So I have a very high pain tolerant. Okay. That's good to know. That's blockage then, and if it feels, the same, then there's no block. And if it felt lighter after, then we got the block out. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I feel like the first two were a little more intense. Okay. Those were sharper than, yeah. And we'll develop our own little language together. Of what, some people that are like, oh, it's spicy and that means, whatever you wanna call it that sensation. Like I said, the toes are, usually connected to the brain it's good that I get them, especially if you're having emotional stuff You'll hear me say different ESE words as I go. I'm just calling in different energies for different stuff, but a lot is wanting to come outta my hand. I'm just going to go with it, and that means there's something going on for sure. Okay. Let's test it again. See if it feels different. Yeah, that felt less intense. Okay. Yeah, and I usually press a little harder the second time just to make sure I got it all. That second toe, this one maybe felt, yeah, that one. Yeah, that one still feels it. How's that now? Nothing. You feel nothing but good. Yeah. That's amazing. Awesome. Actually, can you do the big toe again? Yeah. And I feel something there as well. Okay. How about now? Yeah, fully different.
KristaTara, what did it feel like to receive healing through Neil's blows of breath and energetic touch, especially the physical sensations and emotional responses that came up.
TerraSo I came in without any physical issues. But rather, a more fragile emotional state because of transitional things going on in my life this year.
KristaOkay.
TerraBut I did feel especially on the toenails and the fingernails, a tenderness, like he's describing then the blowing process and then. Touching them again with the same pressure and that tenderness going away. That was a real physical evidence of a change happening.
KristaWhat were those test points? Neil, do you remember
NeilWhat happens, a lot of times is that
KristaYou're in the channel?
Neili'm in the channel.
KristaYeah.
NeilI've even had people come in and say last time you did this, and I'm thinking to myself, I don't remember this person. And I'm in a channel and they'll be like, can you do what you did last time? And I saw them a week ago and I'm like, I don't remember what I did last time.
KristaYou said toenails and fingernails, do you know that to be this fingernails for the heart or this fingernails for the spleen? Is there any synchronicity that way?
NeilYes and no. Mm-hmm. Learning from RRRRRatu Nabe, who doesn't speak English, and I'm using a translator, he's also not trained to be a teacher. So there's this lineage coming through me. And I have to ask a lot of questions, which is very Western mm-hmm. To ask a lot of questions. And sometimes it's like, why are they asking so many questions? Like I told 'em, you just do this. It's like when my grandmother was cooking and I'd be like, can I have the recipe? And she's oh, you just use a little of this, a little of that. It'll taste great. And I'm like, yeah, but how much of this, how much of that, it's the same thing where he's that chef that is just. Being and doing. Yeah. So sometimes I get information like this toe means this, and that means that. And sometimes I don't.
KristaBut it's specific to each person. So my big toe could mean something and her big toe could mean something else. Is that what you're saying?
NeilI'm not saying that. He hasn't broken it into this finger means the heart. He's oh, sometimes the stomach, like that's the explanation I get so the toes I've been told are connected to the brain.
KristaGot it.
NeilHe's never given me a chart or anything to say this toe is for the left side of the brain, I just know if there's a block, clear it.
KristaDo you go in on the toes first? How do you approach it and how do you start?
NeilI always start with the toes.
KristaOkay.
NeilI always start with the toes I start at the toes and then I go to the top of the leg and work my way down the leg. And the sides are like very related to hormonal stuff sometimes near the it bands on, on the leg. There's different things. Again, though, there could be so many things, like the toe could be hurting because you stubbed your toe or you have a broken toe. It could be hurting because it's connected somewhere else. Something tragic that's going on in their heart chakra. Kind of thing.
KristaThat's really interesting I love that you're almost a beginner every time you start, because you have to discover what's there in front of you versus what's happened in the past. So that's a wonderful setup. Tara, did you wanna say something?
TerraYeah, correct me if I'm wrong, Neil, but it seems to speak to that this isn't really a brain process for you. It's more like I don't really need to know exactly what I'm doing and what effects it's having, but. That it's having an effect is enough and that the healing is happening, you don't really need to understand all the details.
NeilYeah. And I can't understand, I get asked so many analytical questions. And I'm asking RRRRRatu Nabe I'm trying to grasp an analytical reason and partly because I have to teach it to people and I know I'm gonna get asked the question. So I need to understand the why and why is not a spiritual question
KristaThat is huge. Why is not a spiritual question.
NeilExactly. And bringing this into this culture, there's, a huge culture clash but not just the blowing on someone in energy work but the understanding of why is that? But my doctor said this, as a teacher, it's even worse because I have people who wanna know the why. If I don't know the answer to something, I just tell my student I don't know the answer to that.
KristaSo tell us about your experience, Tara. And how did it feel in the moment?
TerraThe part that I remember more clearly was the grief that I was feeling Neil, I think that you were saying was The
Neillungs.
TerraThe lungs, and that was the grief that I've been experiencing this whole year. Was that on the side of the ribcage?
NeilYes. So the lung point is on the side. It's lined up with the nipple and it's on the side under the armpit. Oftentimes grief and depression and sadness and sometimes anxiety is in the lungs. So when I'm hitting that lung point for someone, there's emotion. I could feel sadness or I feel in my own lungs, a sad feeling. And a tingle in my own lungs. Or when I'm looking in people's bodies, I can see this like dark, cloudy feeling in there where when it's asthma or something, it's like prickly in there. And when I pressed her lung points and she had a a test, like she, ooh, I immediately felt, sorrow. Sorrow is the word that came up. This is sorrow.
KristaYou blew positive energy into their client's body. You accumulate. Negative energy. Do you ever get hits on, what it stems from? And if it's there, do you think that you need to relate that to the client? Do you think it's there for a purpose?
NeilSometimes I don't know. Sometimes I'm like, there's a block here, don't know why. Let's clear it. It's gone the end. There's sometimes where I get an actual message I need to relay to them. And that's not necessarily Shiva Murty as much as just me as a healer. Because when I train people in Shiva Murty, part of their job isn't to get messages and relay them. It's just to go in and do healing on the person. But when it comes to something very serious, for example, if I see something that looks like a cancerous tumor in the person's body. Not that I am better than a PET scan, but there are times where I'm looking and I'm like, oh, something's there. Something feels really wrong. And I'll do a healing. I've had them disappear. I've had people's tumors disappear miraculously this works on cancer incredible. I really wanna get this studied. And I'm in the process I get a lot of doors shut in my face around it, but if I feel that's happening for someone, I don't say, oh, I think you have cancer. I'll say when was your last mammogram? And they'll say, it's been a while. I'm like, I feel like, something's going on. I would get it checked.
KristaSo how much does intuition come into play for you as a practitioner? Is it just there at the ready if you need it and it's dependent on each client that you work on?
NeilIntuition is the first thing I teach in my class intuition is the most important part of this whole thing.
KristaOkay.
NeilBecause our intuition is our inner compass. It's our guide, it's our guides talking to us. Whatever you wanna call intuition or understand intuition as it is our most valuable resource for everything. Whether it's hearing the yes. When it's a no, when it's an easy no, but you're hearing, yes. That's intuition. Parents have such strong intuition with their kids. They know when something's wrong with their kid. Even with my dog, I'm like, I know something's wrong. The doctor can tell me whatever they wanna tell me, but I know something's wrong. That intuition is so valuable and important, especially because as a healer. I'll tell a student where are the test points and what does it mean and how do you clear them? And I'll say, you intuition is going to guide you more than I can. So I might say that's an infection used fire. But if you go there and you're hearing you need something else, use something else. Don't listen to what you're being taught. Listen to your inner guide. That's source energy.
KristaAt one point you mentioned that Dragon Energy came through wanting to help clear, and that it is related to a certain deity. Can you tell us more about that?
NeilWith some of the energies there are vehicles for that energy. There's dragons that you can call on in this. But that wasn't what this was necessarily. It was the vehicle for this other energy to come in. A dragon energy can breathe fire, it can fly, it could do so many different things to heal. I'm using these balanis, Hinduism deities, and that energy is when you make it real, it's real. And having a dragon help heal you is a really powerful thing. That can enter and fight off disease: so that's a lung point, which sometimes, people have asthma or whatever, a lot of times it's like depression, grief, sadness. It goes right into that area. Yeah. So I'm just gonna work on that. And I am actually gonna also do something with your heart chakra. So I'm gonna be ringing my bell. The bell was gifted to me from nabe, but it's a blessed bell. It's had a lot of ceremony on it it does have healing power too. So I'm gonna do that. I'm also gonna do the RY mantra. Which is, a very wide used mantra across Hinduism and Bais Hinduism. But it's, it's used for a lot of things including protection, and clearing and cleansing. It's also opens up your third eye a bit. I'm being called to use that on your heart so the bell is very loud, but my dog even likes it, And so I'm gonna work on this one, these are the mom points. The mom points. It means the whole weight of everything is on you. So it's like the pressure on your shoulders and everything. Energetically happens for sure.
TerraIs this any lighter? Yeah. Okay. Is it gone or it's still there? It's lighter or, I think it's gone. Yeah. Okay.
NeilSo first I'm gonna go behind your ears like this. Okay. How's that? I feel pressure. Yeah. Yeah. That's an anxiety point. So it's almost everyone. That one's like a big one. I'm gonna blow in your ears. Both sides. Yeah, there was blockage in there that a dragon is wanting to go in and blaze through.
TerraWhat does the dragon want to do
NeilSo the dragon is just like an image. I'm working with different energies and dragon energy was coming through and wanting to really go in there
Terraand help or what do you mean? Help. Yeah. Okay.
NeilLike breathe fire, meltdown. Get the block outta the way.
TerraOkay. Awesome. Bringing the big guns.
NeilIt's also associated with, a particular deity which one, it's called Maha, and the power is like, love going in and the dragon helps, bring it in.
TerraOkay.
NeilThe vehicle it goes in on.
TerraWow.
NeilYeah, it's like this one right here. With the dragon.
TerraOh, okay.
NeilAnd then this dragon was popping out at me too, and it has the yellow flower on it. So it all makes sense, trust me. Alright, so the last part is I'm just gonna be sending energy through your head and then through your body, I'm gonna focus in your head a little bit too. Can you put your hands at your sides? Yeah. Just like that. So if it needs to flow out. The last piece is I'm gonna bless the water. Then you drink it and then it is going into your bloodstream. Going through your whole body how are you feeling? Feel good. Awesome, thank you. And then, I like to say thank you to the energies after, if you'd like to join me. Yes. I say, Shanti. Shanti,
KristaTara, which of the clearing techniques did you feel most resonant with? Was it the breath, the chanting, the bell? Did one stand out to you Overall,
TerraI think the whole thing, all of it together, the touch points and blowing, I feel like that definitely made a change in my energy. But I noticed in the days following some harder conversations some letting go of some clinging energy that I was having. I was noticing different conversations I was having with my daughter. It's harder to, see a shift when it's not a physical pain, but it's an emotional pain. You have to suss it out. It's more of an emotional journey.
KristaDid you feel an emotional release or an ease? Either immediately or in the days that followed?
TerraYes. In the days that followed, I would say I noticed a shift happening. And I think in the weeks that followed, life changes have happened. That in retrospect, I can say was related to the healing. That I'm still on the journey. I'm still on this in the middle of it. I feel like I'm coming out the other side. I'm feeling a little more grounded in my body, but it's been a real emotionally upheaval year for me. And so I am feeling more grounded recently.
KristaI love the timing of this for you. to help you move through it With more grace and ease.
TerraYes,
Kristabecause emotions, and Neil, I'd love your opinion on this. Not processing emotions can then lead to all kinds of physical ailments. So
NeilAbsolutely
Kristanip it in the bud. So you mentioned in the session with Tara that you are part of high priest na to rabbi's lineage. Is that through studying with him or is that part of your spiritual lineage that you found out later? Tell us a bit about that.
NeilFor me, lineage is being the student of a master teacher. And having it come through them. Lineage is a Eastern concept mostly. And it is an energy that comes through as you're being taught this oral tradition. One of the frustrations my students can have is that I don't have a textbook. They want something really tangible and I'm like, this is just being passed down. Not that I don't have anything written for them to look at, but I don't have a book, And then my students are part of my lineage, which are part of his lineage, and it's just coming through energetically that way.
KristaHave you intuited that you have had some form of sole contract or past life with, nabe.
NeilI never even thought of that before, so that's a great question. I think it's that I felt a connection right away. And to me that usually does mean past life I haven't had downloads about what that looked like, but I've done past life regressions in different forms. And I know I was a Hindu priest before. And that makes sense because Balanis Hinduism is very similar to Hinduism. And what's interesting is now I'm re Neil, which is this anointed healer title that I've been given. When you're a healer in Bali, you are a healer and you might be born that way, or it's your lineage in your family and you do healings for people in the village. To be a gire is more, formal title given by a high priest a recognition almost. So I am moving towards shamanism, towards priesthood, even though to me, I really feel uncomfortable as a westerner, like even thinking that way, as you could tell probably. But I know that like when I go into certain temples. There's places where tourists aren't allowed to go that I'm allowed to go. There's things that I can do and ceremonies I can conduct that the temple priest is like, how does this white guy know this stuff? And it's very interesting. Like you mentioned, the bell, like having a bell in Bali is for temple priests and high priests. And the only workaround of that is if a high priest grants you a bell, but also you have to learn how to use it. You have to know mantras to learn with it. It has to be blessed in different ceremonies in order for it to be transferred to you. There's all this stuff that goes with the bell, and I have a bell and they posted a video on TikTok of me and my two colleagues chanting, ringing the bells and it went viral because people were like, Balinese people were like really upset, like, why are these westerners ringing a bell? They're not supposed to. Even when I was practicing my bell at the hotel, rat said, you have to tell the hotel staff I gave you permission to do that. So it's a big deal. And then I had to, make a video testimony of how long it took me to learn, how many years of study before I got the bell and that I know how to use the bell and I know how to treat the bell
Kristahow many years was it?
NeilFour, wow. It was four. What's interesting too is that people wanna know my roadmap of what's next for you? I have no idea. And my students always wanna know what's next? What's next? How do I get to level two? How do I get to level three? And for me, it's always just been a journey. And for my colleagues too, my two colleagues that are on this with me, it's very much. We'll see, we don't know what he's giving us this year or teaching us this year. We'll see. And it's beautiful and exciting and scary always. It's always scary.
KristaScary why
Neilit's new and it's unknown and it's responsibility, A new responsibility, and almost always new mantras to learn, I went to Hebrew school for a million years. I was able to get through a Bar Mitzvah, but I know so many mantras now that I've lost track of how many
Kristais there a pilgrimage that you make? Do you go to Bali every year for a certain amount of time? Tell us about that.
NeilYeah. So I go every year. Usually in springtime. We do 10 days of training eight days of which are with tbe. I go several days early, to prepare, but also to, scout out new things, go to new temples, try new things to see where to bring the students this year. 'cause I wanna change it up every year because people come back year after year and I don't want them to go to the same places or have the same experience. So I'm scouting and I'm organizing and I'm doing all that. But this year we're doing an add-on. So it's the 10 days of training, and then we're doing an additional three days. Working with my favorite healer. She does her own modality. And studying with her and going to a really sacred island off of Bali called Newa Pine. Okay. And there's a cave temple there. And for tourists, it's like you walk into these caves and there's different altars and different things, and temple priests would do ceremony with you. I watch tourists if they make it there, if they have any interest in doing it, they walk in and they walk out because they don't get it at all. But the vibration in there is, like tripping without the mushrooms. It's like I'm seeing things, feeling things. I went into trance last time I was in there. It was so intense. But there's a part of that cave where tourists are not allowed at all, that is the most sacred part of the cave. And we're allowed to go there. And we go in, we call the cave a womb, but this part of the cave, we call the womb within the womb. And because it's very feminine energy in there and it is dedicated to that. And it's. So powerful. So we're taking our students there this year to go through that. We've done it in the past, but this year we're doing it as an add-on excursion, like full stay overnight on the island kind of thing. So we don't have to rush and going to special temples on that island and stuff. So every year it's different.
KristaI don't think we set this up, that you take a group of people over to train them to do this work in Bali through your high priest
Neilyes and no uhhuh, so I always pre-train people because, like I said, he doesn't speak English. And to learn these mantras and then be tested on them right away would be too much for people. So I train them, I teach them, they learn it, they understand it. It gets downloaded in their body, they're ready to go. And then if they want, they go and they work with him and he does testing on them and does additional training to add and scaffold onto what the basics are. And that is always different. Last year, the level ones and level twos and level threes they all learn new stuff that we had never heard of before. And that's why I said he's like my grandmother where he is oh, you use a little this. Oh, I also know how to make this over here. And you're like, you do. And he is sure, this is how you do it. And you're just, you're just like, wow. And we just always look at each other wow, who knew that we were gonna see this time?
KristaHow old of a man is he?
NeilHe's the same age as me. He's the youngest high priest. I'm 51 and he's 51.
KristaAmazing. So after a session like this, how should someone integrate the shifts they've experienced and what practices help sustain or deepen the healing?
NeilThey don't have to do much. I ask people not to undo whatever I've done. How
Kristawould they do that?
NeilFor example, I had a family member who is a runner and she was like, oh, my hips, I need surgery. I'm like you're 18. Let me do a healing. So I did a healing on her and she's oh my God I feel so much better. I feel so much better. I'm like don't run for a while. And what did she do? But the next day she went running and then within a week it hurts again. Because it needed to integrate and heal, but also if you're doing something that's damaging your body and you go and do it again, just like when I work on someone that's a drinker and I'm healing their liver or doing something like that and then they go and start drinking again, there's not much I can do. So that undoes the work,
KristaThat can also lend itself to going back into a relationship that doesn't serve you eating food that doesn't serve you. Listening to things that don't serve you. I liken energetic healing too. When you go to a chiropractor, your body has to adjust to the adjustment and can hold it for, a day, two days a week. The more you go and train the body how to feel better or respond better, or hold a better positioning, let's say emotionally, energetically, spiritually, then it does take time to create that new state of being. Would you agree with that?
NeilI do agree with that. Especially because with Shiva Murti, we see the results happen 24 to 48 hours later when we do a social on Zoom and I'm just healing people around the world, they'll see that one person's oh, my tinnitus, I am not hearing it. And someone else will be like, it's the same. It hasn't changed. And they're disappointed. People get so disappointed when their friend had a healing that was instant and theirs isn't. And they feel like, oh, it didn't work for me. And it's no. Let's give it a little time. And then sometimes while the social is still happening, someone types in the chat, okay, now it's different. It's been 20 minutes now it feels different. So that integration period can be over 48 hours.
KristaTara, after going through this experience, what have you learned about surrender trust or your own energy?
TerraI, that word surrender keeps coming up for me. I keep getting little, like I'll pull a card or the word surrender just keeps showing up. I think I really did go into the healing with meal and surrender to what was to come because I really felt a deep level of trust. I just see my life getting better and better. It just seems that I am trusting more and more that the path is unfolding and I'm working through the grief. I think that healing helped me with the sorrow, releasing sorrow. I keep. Doing work around releasing sorrow, which I think is giving me more space to invite other energies in.
KristaAnd for the listeners who are curious, but unfamiliar with the Balise spiritual traditions, what would each of you like them to understand about the essence of this work? Neil, do you wanna start?
NeilSure. That's a hard question. I'll go back to something that RRRRatu, NABE and Amma have in common, and that is, if you ask Amma what her religion is, she'll say love. And if you ask TBE what shi murti is, he'll say love. And so that's, the essence of this. And that's the most powerful energy I find.
TerraYeah, that makes a lot of sense. That there's love and there's the obstacles to love. And I think this work seems to have removes the obstacles to that, whether it be, I don't know energetic blocks or grief or sorrow that's filling in the space, like releasing that so that you can be a channel to love.
KristaSo as a practitioner, what are your self-care practices? How do you balance your energy and what kinds of things knock you out of alignment?
NeilOne of the things that people are always curious about with me is. And other energy healers have asked me this how do you prevent absorbing other people's negativity and other people's stuff? And fortunately, part of the daily practice of Shiva Murti is a protection of that you put around yourself.
TerraOkay.
NeilAnd that protection, it's there, but I can call upon it to be stronger. When someone's walking down the street and screaming or doing something like that, I can really protect myself energetically that way. I find self care wise, I have gotten more and more. Intentional with my self care especially in the last year or so. And I don't know if that's just something that comes with age I'm getting more and more sensitive to toxicity. Yeah. And I'm quicker to cut it out of my life. I found that I do like to not over schedule myself. That's really important. I used to just grind. And now I'm like, Nope, nope, nope.. I need time with my dog every day. I need a lunch date with myself every day. I need to do these things to really take care of my body and my vessel. So I'll take a nap, I go for hikes. I go to the gym every day. I protect that time
Kristayou are one of the brightest and shiniest people I've ever met, so whatever you're doing, it's working.
NeilThat's so sweet. Thank you.
KristaYeah. Tara, what do you consider practice?
TerraI've been going through a process of having more time to myself and it's been many years. But the time that I am finding that is to myself, I am going to yoga. I am making this vessel strong, powerful, grounded and eating well. That's huge. I'm also trusting that what is not meant for me will fall away and I'm not clinging to it. That process can be something that I remind myself of daily. Yeah, process of surrendering, of trusting and feeling the alignment with spirit that I'm being filled up with and not from necessarily external things in the world.
KristaThat's good. That's a good one. So before we wrap up, I wanna let people know where to find you. Neil, could you share your website address and then it'll be on my website as well?
NeilYes. So I have two websites to social medias 'cause I do the healing and the teaching. My healing is neil aaron healing.com also if you just go to shiva murti.com, it links to my website.
KristaPerfect. And then you teach manifestation classes. You teach Hiva, Murti you bring people to Bali to do a more immersive experience there. So you have a lot to share. And all of that is on either one or both websites?
NeilYes,
Kristabeautiful. And Kara,
TerraYou can find me on my website, earth mama studios.com. I have a private practice in Pasadena and Los and I also do telehealth uh, work with. People using ketamine assisted psychotherapy, which can be incredible healing. Brain spotting. It's a trauma treatment. I do somatic and parts work and I also do breath work groups and individual breath work. And that's all my website.
KristaBeautiful. You both are like one-stop shops. You're both based in LA but you work, like you said, telehealth and you also work online, correct.
NeilYes, I work remotely as well. Yeah.
KristaWonderful. All right before we close, is there anything either of you would like to add that we didn't cover?
TerraI just wanna say thank you for the experience and Neil for Thank you. Neil. Yes. I'm just really grateful for this and I'm planning on coming back and bringing my family members, so appreciate it. And Krista, always appreciate you, the energy, this podcast that you're putting out here into the world. I love it.
KristaThank you. Thank
Neilyou, Neil. Yeah, Krista, I was the channel of that healing, but you were the facilitator because you put us together and you put this together. So I appreciate that and thank you so much for that.
KristaThank you. You are two of my favorite people, so to bring you together was such a heart moment for me. You hold a similar type of love and the bounty of love and I'm really happy you two met.
NeilOh thank you so much.
